Are you a Narsissist?

NARS is one of those brands for me that just screams amazing. From the matte black packaging and gorgeous collaborations with designers to the products themselves, everything feels expensive and quality (I guess part of this is reflected in the price). After experimenting a lot more with NARS this year, I thought I'd put together a small post about all the bits I've tried that might hopefully give you a few ideas on some bits and pieces to pick up, whether you're new to the brand or not.

My first ever purchase from NARS was a blusher in the shade Deepthroat. (Post here.) It's a gorgeous almost peachy pink shade with a subtle shimmer that adds the perfect wash of natural colour to the cheeks that can be built up as desired. They really do excel with their blushers, more of which can be found in the One Shocking Moment palette. (Post here.) This beautiful limited edition palette from the Steven Klein collection not only looks incredible, but packs four blushers, Laguna bronzer, the Paloma contour powders and a giant mirror into one really sturdy compact. I know that a lot of people don't like that Laguna bronzer pops up in a lot of their palettes but as someone who previously hadn't owned it, this was a really nice addition for me. My favourite blusher has to be Dolce Vita from this collection, a really deep almost berry blush, perfect for Winter.

I was lucky enough to be sent a couple of eye products from NARS last year after they came across one of my posts on Instagram. (Post here.) They very kindly sent me a dual intensity eyeshadow in Pasiphae and a velvet shadow stick in Hollywoodland. Though I haven't had chance to use the eyeshadow yet, it's a really unusual but lovely green colour with hints of burgundy and the pigmentation is crazy good! The velvet shadow stick however has worked as a really nice light base all over the lid for a lot of my gold eye looks, with excellent staying power and colour pay off.

The two newest additions to my collection were Christmas presents off my sister. I've lusted after the Audacious lipsticks for as long as I can remember so finally getting my mitts on one of these was VERY exciting. I was given the shade Charlotte, a really vibrant berry shade. Matte lipsticks are normally my go to but these are definitely a lot creamier and moisturising than a matte finish, verging more on the satin side of things. Despite this the colour is second to none, one swipe gives me all over opaque colour that lasts surprisingly well too. The packaging just hits this one out of the park as well, it's got a magnetic closure so there's no worry of this popping open in your bag and it definitely feels the same quality and luxury of other NARS products.

Finally I was given the Copacabana Illuminator, a glistening pink pearl cream formula that reflects light like nothing else. This reminds me a lot of High Beam by Benefit just in a more easy to work with consistency. A little of this goes a very long way, I'm still getting to grips with it! You can mix this with your foundation but what I like to do is use a ring finger to pat this very gently over my cheekbones, taking care not to move any of my foundation underneath. The result is an instant healthy glow. I'd say this is probably better for those with lighter skintones as it is quite a pale shade, different from the usual champagne golds I lean toward.

  14. I was going to say I've tried very little from NARS but actually I've realised I have the Radiant Creamy concealer, an Audacious lipstick and one of the Dual-Intensity eye shadows. I use the concealer regularly but I really should try and remember to use the others more. I did have a mini blusher but I wasn't keen on the shimmer in it so gave it away. I'd love to try one without shimmer x

  15. Fab post lovely, Nars is one of those brands I don’t actually own that much from but definitely lust a lot of products. Deep throat looks like such a stunning shade and one that I need to get. I love the look of Charlotte, and need this purely as that’s my name haha ;)

  16. Oooh Charlotte looks gorgeous, I'm huge fan of Nars Sheer Glow, I would go as far as saying it's my all time favourite foundation. I also never apply my eyeshadow without my Smudge Proof Eye Base, it's amazing! ;)
