Christmas Face Of The Day

I don't know about you but I've had my Christmas Day makeup planned for at least two weeks now. What can I say... I'm organised (or just mad, I'll let you decide). This will be the first year that I'm going all out with my makeup, normally you'll find me bare faced in my pyjamas but since we're having lots of family and friends round and possibly off visiting others, I thought I'd make a special effort. I wanted something that was going to give me a flawless finish, last all day and still be massively festive. So a gold eye and red lips was the obvious choice for me!

I'll be starting with the Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot primer. This has to be my favourite drugstore primer, the hype really is real. This makes my makeup last all day without looking cakey or sweating off. It's a really nice formula that feels super hydrating on the skin while creating a lovely base for my foundation. My go to for days or nights when I want to look flawless is Loreal True Match. I have yet to try out their new formula but this is my favourite foundation for creating a gorgeous base that doesn't feel at all heavy on the face. I almost feel like I'm not wearing makeup when I have this on. I'll brighten under the eyes and conceal any dark circles with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and set it all with the One Heck Of A Blot powder.

For bronzer I'll be turning to my all time favourite, the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil. It's a matte powder with no shimmer that works nicely for contouring and bronzing up any areas of the face that the sun would naturally hit. There's no hint of orange and it's lovely and light which means it works perfectly for us girls with fairer skin. (Though I will be fake tanning for the occasion). Nars Deepthroat is my blusher of choice for the day, a pretty and natural looking pink shade that can be built up or kept quite sheer. And finally, So Hollywood by Anastasia Beverly Hills is my highlight of choice. This is a gorgeous gold highlighter, free from any chunky glitter or sparkle that looks amazing on the cheekbones. Plus, the colour is perfect for the season.

On the eyes I've gone for completely Makeup Geek shadows, starting with the Urban Decay Primer Potion to prevent creasing and prolong the wear. I've picked the shades Magic Act, Glamorous, Shimma Shimma and Goddess. Starting with a shade like Creme Brulee all over the base, I'll then use Glamorous and Goddess in the crease and outer v to add some depth, then pat Magic Act all over the lid with a little of Shimma Shimma in the inner corner. Sorted! I'll finish off the eyes with a little black eye liner, some falsies and lashings of the Maybelline Lash Sensational. And as always the brows will be Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade.

Christmas Day will be full of eating from start to finish, so I want a lip colour that I know will be extremely long lasting throughout. For this reason I've opted for Sarafine by Anastasia Beverly Hills, a gorgeous red shade that I know will last from morning to night. To prevent any bleeding and to add to the longevity I'll use a red liner underneath, my go to choice at the moment is by Rimmel. Everything will be set into place using Urban Decay Chill Setting Spray, just to keep everything in place that little bit longer. All topped off with a Christmas hat, of course.

What are your Christmas Day makeup choices?

  5. Planned two weeks in advance?! That's insane of you but insanely organised of you too, haha. I didn't wear any makeup for Christmas just because I had a quiet little one with my loved ones.

I hope you had a great one!
