Takeaway. No night in is complete for me without some sort of takeaway or indulgent meal. If I'm sticking to homemade I'll opt for a massive bowl of spaghetti bolognese smothered in extra mature cheddar. My takeaway of choice is Indian, a chicken tikka Rogan Josh with pilau rice, garlic naan and poppadoms goes down an absolute treat with me.
Television boxset or a film. If I'm not binge watching a new TV series then a night in film for me just has to be a horror. My personal favourite is Sinister, it's been a long time since a film has shaken me up like this one did. It also gives you the perfect excuse to snuggle up in loads of blankets with a cuddly toy or pet.
A bottle of wine. The perfect compliment to a takeaway right? An alternative could be hot chocolate or tea but when I'm pampering myself I like to go all out. And by all out I mean a £5 bottle of rose from the nearest supermarket.
Candles, blankets and onesies. Candles and fairylights create the perfect night in ambience and coupled with a multitude of blankets and cushions you can create the most relaxing, chilled out atmosphere. As soon as it gets colder I also like to breakout the onesie collection, my favourites being a red fairisle number from Primark and a ditsy floral print from Boohoo.
Pamper yourself. You might as well go the full hog and break out all your pamper goodies, whether that be skincare or otherwise. After my bath I like to moisturise from top to bottom with The Body Shop Cocoa Body Butter and treat my hair to a deep condition or hair mask.
What are some of your night in essentials?
Definitely a bit of pampering, takeaway and a film. That Lush bath bomb is my favourite at the moment too - so glittery!

I'm definitely in need of another night like that soon!

Haha I love this post, especially the £5 rose comment - how is it that a bottle of cheap wine, when drunk from a wine glass curled up in your own house, can feel like the height of luxury?! New follower here just for that comment alone! xxx

I'm glad you enjoyed it haha! I'll never spend any more on wine not going to lie, especially when I water it down with lemonade anyway! Thanks for following :)

Love this post!! I have a quiet night in almost every other weekend. I too can no longer hack the hangovers. Chinese and a good netflix binge with a glass of wine is my ideal night in!!! x

I don't know how I went out every weekend and went to work hungover for 7 hours the next day. I'm definitely getting old!

Nice post on what you do on your night ins! Recently i've been loving switching to a night in rather than going out.. i just can't face the hangovers any more they're not worth it! I really want to try out intergalatic bath bomb.. for my nights in i just usually snack on crisps or cake and stick a movie on x

I went out for Halloween and the hangover was horrible, god knows how I handled them every weekend when I was 18! Mmmm cake

Nothing beats a night in! Especially listening to the rain outside and thinking you could be stuck out in it in a skimpy outfit, I'd much rather have my duvet and a good film!

It just started tipping it down in Manchester so I'm pretty glad to be sat inside with a candle lit right now.

Nothing is better for the week than a good night in. Pampering myself is what I usually do coz it gives me enough time to just focus on myself.

Loooooved this post! Finally had a night off from work, so I drew up a Lush bath as soon as humanly possible. Sometimes you just have to take care of yourself first!
