Maybelline Lash Sensational | Review

For the last few years I've worn false lashes religiously. It doesn't matter whether it's for work or university, I will take the extra time in the morning to apply falsies, normally resulting in my being late as I won't sacrifice sleep for anything. Last year I also found myself in a really bad habit of picking my mascara off when I was bored, anxious or just at the end of the day. This resulted in my once really thick, long lashes becoming a lot shorter and less full, which in turn meant I felt compelled to wear false lashes even more than usual. It's a bit of a vicious cycle really. Ever since I have been on the hunt for a mascara that will emulate the effect of wearing false lashes, at least to some extent. This is where Lash Sensational comes in.

Maybelline are well known for creating good, affordable mascara and this one is no exception. I tend to opt for mascaras that use proper bristles as opposed to plastic wands such as this one but due to the unique shape of the wand and the formula of this mascara, I might have been converted. The one side of the wand uses shorter bristles, perfecting for getting product at the root of the lashes, while the other side utilises longer bristles to sweep the mascara up.  Although this isn't intended to create length, I noticed a massive difference in my lashes compared to different mascaras, as well as a massive increase in volume. This mascara gives the lashes great definition, avoiding any clumping even after applying a few coats. Overall I think this is a fabulous mascara and completely lives up to the hype surrounding it. Will I stop wearing lashes every day? Probably not every day but I will definitely be opting for this mascara more often for those days where I want a more natural, effortless look.

Have you tried Maybelline Lash Sensational?

  1. I love this mascara! I normally hate drugstore mascaras as I find them to be clumpy or it doesn't make my lashes look any different. Admittedly, I picked this up based on the packaging, but I'm so glad I did!

  4. At first I didn't really like it, my lashes looked really bad. Then I gave it another try and I must say I am happy that I did, it is really good! I like the wand and the formula is also great. x

    1. I did read someone say that they preferred it when the product had dried out slightly, perhaps that's why it worked better second time round?

  16. I SWEAR by this mascara! It amazes me that it's a drugstore mascara every time I use it. Also please teach me your fake lashes skills because I have yet to ever wear them as they kinda terrify me. :)

    1. Practice makes perfect with applying false lashes! I used to spend ages trying to get them on properly and now it takes no time at all. I might write a post on how I apply them and what lashes I use if that would be of any help? Haha

  18. I've heard so many great reviews about this mascara but I absolutely hated it. I was so disappointed in this product. I just found the tube itself wasn't taking the mascara off the want properly resulting in hugely clumped lashes. I've thought about maybe giving it another go as I thought maybe I had a faulty tube, but, I'm still sitting on the fence with this one!
