Stila Liquid Lipsticks | Review

I think it's safe to say that I'm on a bit of a liquid lipstick hype at the moment and after buying these and the Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks I'm officially on a spending ban! (At least until the student loan next comes in).

 I've heard wonderful things about these products and having already used Stila eyeshadows (which I love), I just had to try these out. I ordered from Feel Unique and was pleasantly surprised when one of the lipsticks arrived just two days after ordering, followed by the other two a couple of days later. They also had a 10% off discount code, which helped me feel slightly less guilty about spending my wages on more lip products that I don't reaaaaally need. The three colours I ordered were Patina, a dusty rose/mauve shade (my favourite kind). Carina, a very vibrant orange coral, this one will definitely be getting a lot of use during the Summer months. And finally Venezia, this is one of the newest shades to their collection, a bright red with very pink undertones, again another perfect for Summer shade.

As Carina was the first shade I received, I was extremely eager to road test the longevity of these products and what better way to do this than by wearing it during a long, hot and sweaty Saturday night shift at work. I applied it at around 8pm and the first thing I will say is that these feel incredible to apply, they're so creamy and soft on the lips. As with any time I wear a matte lip product, I applied a little bit of vaseline beforehand just to combat any dryness. In the dim light of my bedroom the brightness of this colour really didn't come across, it was only once I got to work and looked in the toilet mirrors that I saw just how vibrant this was! It's definitely the most perfect Summer shade and looks great paired with a tan and lots of bronzer, definitely one I'll be taking on my next holiday. By the time 2am came around it was still going strong, even after drinking and eating, in fact if anything, this was near impossible to budge! After a good few hours they do start to feel dry on the lips but I wouldn't expect any less of such a long lasting, matte product. It's nothing a little lipbalm can't solve!

Another thing I will mention is that the packaging on the new shades is gorgeous, I can't stop looking at it! You can see the difference in the pictures, the old packaging uses the black lid where as the new packaging has the pretty metallic lid and gold typography across the tube, I just wish Carina and Patina were the same!
