Kate Moss by Rimmel Lipsticks

If you can't afford to splash out on lipsticks from brands like Mac then it's always nice to have a good drugstore alternative. My go to brand since I was young has always been Rimmel. I remember wearing the shade 016 Heart Breaker from their Lasting Finish range religiously when I was in college (that might have something to do with it being pretty much the only lipstick I owned at the time, boy how things have changed). My favourites in particular are the lipsticks in the Kate Moss collections. There's a really nice range of colours and finishes for everyone, and at just £5.49 a pop, they really are great value for money. I've gathered all mine together to show you!



I will first say that I completely forgot to photograph swatches of these. I guess that's what happens when you take photos for about six posts on one morning, you get forgetful. The red tubes are the Kate Moss Lasting Finish Matte shades, the black are the original Kate Moss Lasting Finish shades and the light pink tube is from the newest nudes collection. All of these minus the last one pack a massive punch in terms of pigmentation and for a more budget lipstick, the lasting power is also pretty good!

107: A beauty blogger classic, especially now it's heading into the colder months. This is also a Zoella favourite. This is a gorgeous deep berry wine shade and despite being described as matte finish, I don't find these anywhere near drying in the slightest. If anything they feel like more of a satin or demi matte finish, very comfortable but still long wearing.

110: This is a really bright coral orange shade and when I say this is bright, I really mean it. I love to wear this when I have a tan in the Summer and pair it with an all black and white outfit. This seriously pops on the lips! Again, a similar finish to 107, matte but still creamy and comfortable.

22: A really vibrant pure red. I love the colour but I have other reds in my collection that I reach for more often so this has been neglected recently. Despite not being part of the matte range I actually don't find these have that much of a different finish to the others, if anything they just have more of a sheen.

08: This is one of the newest additions to my Rimmel collection. It's a light nude shade that sits more on the mauve/dusty rose side of things. To me this feels slightly less matte than the others and a lot creamier, a finish I tend not to lean towards but I love throwing this on in the day when I don't feel like wearing anything too bright.

01: I'd nearly go as far to say that this is a pretty good dupe for Russian Red by Mac. The only significant difference is the formula and price, this definitely has more of a sheen to it where as Russian Red has that classic matte finish. When swatched next to each other they're really very similar, both have blue undertones that make the teeth look really white and they're both perfect for Autumn/Winter. If you're looking for an alternative to Russian Red then seriously give this a try!

45: I couldn't resist trying out one of the new nudes from this collection but when swatching in store I found that none of them really had any impact when swatched on the back of my hand. I guess they're proper nude shades that give you that "your lips but better" look. Personally I prefer something that has a bit more pigmentation so the only one I liked was this one. It's like a lighter version of 08, with a glossier more sheer finish.
